Sister
Perennials
A
new group has formed at Antioch and it is just another part of the exciting
things happening here. Sister Perennials consists of a growing group of
ladies who have a desire to know each other better and to walk closer to our
Lord. We meet once a month and we have had some exciting guest
speakers. We named our group after our first meeting when Mrs. Pam Taylor
spoke about what a perennial is like. She told us that as God
is looking down on us (as if a flower garden of perennials), he is surveying his
work (us). The plants (us) look small and vulnerable, but yet… they look so
promising. A perennial (us ladies)
is indeed a promise-that we will grow larger and stronger, a delightful sight
not only in the first season, but even more so in the years to come.
For unlike an annual, a perennial does not have a single year of glory
and then need to be replaced. We are
an investment.. to watch us grow, and prosper, making a bigger and better show
with each passing year. As
perennials we make a living bouquet. Leaves of different colors and textures as
they intertwine and mix (like us ladies). Perennials,
as a group, are adaptable and forgiving. (That’s how we should be)
A perennial is a plant that continues to grow and reproduce, year after
year.
Our first speaker was Mrs. Faye Hughes who spoke to us about showing our true selves. Mrs. Sharon Mosley was our next speaker and she spoke on fear. We also hosted a ladies "tea" to welcome our new pastor's wife, Melissa, to our family. It was a huge hit and everyone agreed we need to do it at least once a year. We have plans for some missions and our first one is collecting school supplies to give to our local schools.
Hope you enjoy these pictures of our speakers and our ladies "tea" as much as we enjoyed them.

We had beautiful tables to eat at thanks to Mrs. Hillis and Mrs. Tabitha. Thanks so much ladies!
